Privacy Policy

This policy explains how CaveDevil Survey and CaveDevil Map Manager handle information. They are provided by Glazer Dynamics Pty Ltd, ACN 699 791 609, ABN 71 699 791 609, D-U-N-S Number 781596875 ("we", "us", or "our").
Summary
CaveDevil Survey is local-first. It has no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs and does not track people across apps or websites. Survey data stays on the device unless the user explicitly shares it or uploads it to a CaveDevil server.
Information we handle
Survey content: Survey and team names, notes, stations, comments, sketches, measurements, timestamps, instrument data, calibration samples, results and settings are used for capture, editing, visualisation, calibration, export and sync.
Accounts: Map Manager handles email, display name, authentication identifiers, memberships and roles. Payment providers process full payment details; we receive transaction, subscription and entitlement information.
Bluetooth: The app uses nearby-device information to connect to compatible survey instruments. Older Android versions require location permission for scanning, but the app does not request, derive, store or transmit GPS or network location.
Technical records: Credentials are stored in operating-system secure storage. Services may process IP address, timestamps, platform, app or browser version, request headers and security logs.
When information leaves the device
Surveys are not uploaded automatically. A user may explicitly upload to a selected CaveDevil server or share an export through the operating system. Firmware features contact the configured service for releases. Another server's operator is responsible for its privacy practices. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Permissions
- Bluetooth and nearby devices for survey instruments
- Location on Android 11 and earlier for Bluetooth scanning only
- Notifications, foreground service, wake lock and vibration for user-started Pocket Mode
- Network access for accounts, sync, sharing and firmware
The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, health, advertising identifier or precise GPS access.
Use and disclosure
We use information to provide, secure, maintain and support the requested features; administer accounts, clubs and billing; prevent abuse; and meet legal obligations. Contracted hosting, authentication, storage, email and payment providers may process information for those purposes.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until the user deletes them or removes the app data. Unlinking removes the phone credential but not uploaded records or an account. Account holders can request access, correction, export or deletion through Support. Limited records may remain for security, law, disputes, financial recordkeeping and normal backup lifecycles.
Security, children and changes
Production connections use HTTPS and mobile secrets use secure storage, but no method is completely secure. Services are not directed to children. We may update this policy and will revise its effective date.
